Sustainability
For the Iris Ceramica Group, of which FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti is a part, responsible production is a real priority, as demonstrated by more than half a century of concrete commitment to sustainability. Protecting the environment and reducing pollution are fundamental objectives for achieving ambitious goals in the field of sustainable development and architecture. We measure our commitment according to the three ESG criteria: environmental, social and corporate governance, and have been applying energy-saving solutions to protect the environnement for years, developing and investing in best practices in this area.
The Group’s mission – Re-engineering ceramics to improve the interaction between man and the environment – translates into concrete actions and the search for energy-saving solutions to protect the environment, developing and investing in best practices in the field.
An example of this is the H2 Factory® – the first ceramic factory in the world developed to be powered by 100% green hydrogen: a pioneering project that is part of the Group’s path towards decarbonisation.
The Group’s commitment to sustainability, of which Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti is a part, has allowed us to obtain important certifications on both process and materials such as Cradle to Cradle Silver – one of the most ambitious global standards for the design and manufacture of safe, circular and responsible products – and inclusion in the Declare Label, certifying that our materials are ‘Red List Free’, i.e. free of chemicals that are hazardous to human health and the ecosystem.
