Centro commerciale Cormano - Cormano (MI) - Italy

Architects: Arch. Paolo Avellini

The Cormano shopping centre, with floors by FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, designed by Paolo Avellini-INRES, stretches over 8,000 m2.
With a Coop superstore, 11 shops and a snack bar, the Cormano shopping centre has been "a reference point for the city of Milan since 2004 and its location makes it easy to reach for all the towns in the area".
The shopping centre develops along a large mall on two separate floors. The main entrance is on the ground floor, with the fulcrum of the building in the basement.
The aesthetics of the FMG floors are strikingly original and shiny, thanks to special solutions like the intricate design of the ground floor.
An 8-pointed star 5 metres and a half in diameter surrounds the pillar in the middle of the mall, created in classic marble effect Nero Marquinia porcelain, surrounded by a strip of Persiano Giallo slabs.
The surfaces and composition have a strong visual impact, with their dynamic wavy pattern and interesting choice of highly contrasting colours.
