The Houghton Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa is a clear example of this, with FMG ceramics used in the project by DSGN Design.
With its exclusive location, The Houghton Hotel was designed "to offer business and leisure travelers an unforgettable experience" and to give greater visibility to the largest city in South Africa, due to its prime location close to the main commercial, restaurant and shopping areas.
Part of the renowned LHW Group - Leading Hotels of the World, which has over 400 hotels in more than 80 countries, The Houghton Hotel boasts panoramic views over 68 hectares of private parkland, with an impressive golf course, "jogging tracks, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools which complement the corporate lifestyle services offered.
FMG ceramics bring the aesthetics and reliability of the best Iris Ceramica Group and Made in Italy designs to this privileged setting, which offers all the services of a modern lifestyle resort, such as a wellness center, spa, gym and bistro offering a rich and varied dining experience.
Exquisite MAXFINE Calacatta Polished marble in 150x75cm format was used for the swimming pool area. From the SELECT collection, Blue de Savoie was chosen for the hall and gym area, and Onice Perla for the spa-relaxation area (both in 120x60cm format).
Instantly recognizable at all latitudes, the marble effect is synonymous with refined elegance, as well as long-term durability (absolutely essential in the swimming pool area). The beautiful appearance and soft colors of the marble chosen for The Houghton Hotel put the surfaces at the heart of the project, accentuating the furnishings and creating an intimate sense of well-being and luxury.
The marble finish with its innate lightness and original veining gives the resort a stunningly compelling ambiance, particularly in the open spaces flooded with natural light from the large windows.
FMG has also designed and produced special pieces in 60x30cm format to complete stairs and baseboards, demonstrating the exceptional versatility of a product that naturally lends itself to covering details in any large or small contemporary environment.
