FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti’s presence at Sustainab.Italy - Energies for Italian Architecture is a natural consequence of the company’s commitment to supporting and promoting architecture, starting with “SPAZIO FMG for architecture” (Milan, Via Bergognone 27), the gallery and cultural project curated by Luca Molinari which serves as an open space for exhibitions and discussions in the world of architecture, through a packed scheduled of exhibitions. It is here that, following on from its support for and participation in Sustainab.Italy, in autumn 2008 FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti will be hosting “London calling”, an exhibition of the work of four up-and-coming British architects.
FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti is also main sponsor of the XXIII World Architecture Congress. Here, from 29th June to 3rd July, it will be presenting FMGxtreme, projects by Lot-EK, Aldo Cibic and Italo Rota: futuristic eco-sustainable environments intended to trigger in-depth reflection on the future of architecture.

“Participation in the panel discussions of Sustainab.Italy - Energies for Italian Architecture is absolutely in line with the FMG philosophy,” comments Massimiliano Righi, FMG Marketing Manager. “The company’s entire range of marbles, granites, stones and travertines is produced with complete respect for the environment, prioritising healthy building and living.”
FMG is at Sustainab.Italy to publicise the innovativeness and experience of Italian architecture in the area of sustainability. The topic has always been dear to FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti: it was the first Italian firm to achieve biocompatibility certification from the ANAB (Italian bioecological architecture association), and it has received international approval from the IBO (Austrian institute for bioecological architecture) and the IBN (Neubeum Institute for bioecological architecture).

Sustainab.Italy - Energies for Italian Architecture is coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Cultural Institute in London, and provides an overview of innovative sustainable architecture projects in Italy. The curators Luca Molinari and Alessandro d’Onofrio have selected 41 projects to act as Italian ambassadors at the most innovative, dynamic, multi-faceted architectural event.
