FMG EVOLVING STONES

FMG ONLINE IN THE RUN-UP TO THE XXIII WORLD ARCHITECTURE CONGRESS

http://evolvingstones.irisfmg.com, the special FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti site for the UIA World Congress, is online. FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti is launching the site http://evolvingstones.irisfmg.com to publish news of all developments in the run-up to the XXIII World Architecture Congress, where it will be the main sponsor.

The new site is interactive, reinforcing FMG’s dialogue with architects: an opportunity for finding out about the world of FMG, its commitment to the environment, the exhibitions scheduled for Spazio FMG in Milan, and the FMGxtreme workshop-project.

"Evolving Stones" is divided into three main sections:

1. Preparing for the XXIII World Architecture Congress.
A multimedia section that fulfils the congress’s claim of Transmitting Architecture; architecture that has no secrets, engaging in an open dialogue with the city and society at large. The section comprises news, images and video-interviews on the exhibitions held at Spazio FMG, the gallery holding exhibitions of architecture only, run by Luca Molinari with sponsorship from the Milan City Council in association with the “Corriere della Sera” newspaper. Until 10 May, Spazio FMG is host to FMGxtreme, focusing in particular on the work of Aldo Cibic, Italo Rota and Lot-ek. From 22 May to 21 June this will be followed by NEW URBAN ECOLOGIES, new forms of urban and social ecology, by four up-and-coming European architects.

2. Materials.
FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, world leader in floor and wall tiles and slabs, re-creates nature’s finest stones, marbles and granites, keeping all their forms and appearance intact. FMG uses cutting-edge technology and scientific research to assure architects environmentally sustainable materials designed to free the creativity of architects, designers and planners. The section offers both real examples of major projects undertaken and completed, and information about the most innovative projects, at the international state of the art, which have taken up the challenge of FMGxtreme: an exhibition-event in progress, which involves designers in a unique, active relationship between the world of architectural design and production, through the creation of futuristic eco-sustainable micro-environments.

3. FMG for the environment.
An interactive, in-depth illustration of FMG’s commitment to sustainable architecture. Today as never before, subjects such as Bioecological Architecture and Biobuilding are hot topics and primary needs: the FMG materials have been certified as biocompatible and produced with respect for the environment by the ANAB (Italian bioecological architecture association), the IBO (Austrian institute for bioecological architecture) and the IBN (Neubeum institute for bioecological architecture).
