The main London office was established by Paul Mollé in 1985 and is currently run by the architecte Davide Padoa as CEO and Managing Director of the company. DI specialises in shopping centres’ creative planning and since beginning it has been developping in Italy not only new projects such as “Fiumara” in Genova, “Shopville LeGru” in Turin and “Le Befane” in Rimini but also restructuring projects such as “Curno” in Bergamo, “I Gigli” in Firenze, “Leonardo” in Imola and “Mondovicino” in Mondovì. Every project is supported by a team supervised by a project leader. In the specific case of Mondovicino Shopping Centre the project leader was the arch. Paolo Bianchini.
The Shopping Centre Mondovicino has a 19,000 sq. m. GLA and a 3.450 sq. mt. mall together with a Retail Park and an Outlet Village. Design International developped a concept of interior design based on the local natural landscape, aiming to tranform Mondovicino into something unique. Indeed all the elements (i.e. the streets and the squares) clearly reinforce the link to the natural surrounding landscape. The perfectly chosen lighting compliments the architecture by creating a relaxing yet stimulating atmosphere.
The final choise for the FMG materials is due to both the large range of natural colours that perfectly fit the design and the high quality required by the rigours of a modern shopping centre.
