Hotel Levante Club
Benidorm - Alicante - Spain - Project: Julio Munoz
The Hotel Levante Club was designed with the utmost attention to details while providing the best services, with the goal of making the most of the main spaces of the hotel, giving them the necessary volume and light to be pleasant and comfortable.
The design solutions chosen made it possible to create interior spaces that are large and extensively illuminated by natural light, where all the common areas, situated on the four main floors, are in direct contact with the outside.
Right from the beginning of the design process, the designers excluded soft surfaces and instead gave preference to materials that would stay permanently clean and shiny and which could be used, where necessary, for both floors and walls. In addition to these features, the intention was to use a limited range of materials, focussing attention both outside and inside the lobby on dry brick, manufactured marble, travertine, and granite, as well as beech wood, glass, and steel.
Based on the same principle, a single material was chosen for all the wall coverings of the hotel, differentiating only the colours. Elegant and durable materials were selected, which are not only beautiful, but also maintain their characteristics over time with proper maintenance: Navona, Persiano Giallo, Kashmir White, Verde Tropical, Indian Juparana, and Multicolor Red.
Checkerboard carpet-like layouts were created in the common areas, with ashlars made by water-jet cutting: Verde Tropical and Kashmir White were matched together to create an exquisite "carpet" and a cheerful focal point beneath the revolving door at the entrance. Multicolor Red and Kashmir White were combined in the dining room, creating elegant circular inserts like multicolour carpets that set off the shiny uniformity of the floor.
